Serviced office provider Orega has signed three tenants to its new business centre at The Beehive next to Gatwick Airport within a month of opening.

IT services company Logica, Norwegian-based virtual training firm It’s Learning and Polarcus, a Dubai-based company specialising in vessels for the oil and gas industry, have all taken workspace in the iconic art deco building.

The location of The Beehive, less than a mile from the airport, was a key factor for both It’s Learning and Polarcus which have established their UK head office in the 22,000 sq ft building.

For Logica, BT’s presence in nearby offices featured strongly in its decision to take accommodation in The Beehive. BT has a seven-year network services contract with Logica.

The Beehive, built in 1936, was the original Gatwick airport terminal building. It is owned by the Bland Group which spent £1.2m on refurbishing it and teamed up with Orega under a joint venture management agreement. The two-storey building on Beehive Ring Road now offers flexible, modern offices with leading-edge IT and telecoms technology, fully equipped conference and meeting rooms and 128 parking spaces. The contemporary interior styling complements the building’s many original features.
